Free Update 24.2.2 for FTM 2019

ABOUT THE 24.2.2 UPDATE
This is an important update for all FTM 2019 users, incorporating essential modifications in Family Tree Maker’s FamilySync technology needed to accommodate changes on Ancestry’s side and return to green sync weather.  Developed together with Ancestry engineers, this update also improves the speed and reliability of syncing, uploading and downloading for FTM 2019 users who keep in sync with Ancestry trees. Once you've installed the update, the sync status will change from orange to green.
This update also resolves an issue with signing in to Ancestry on macOS 10.14-10.15. You can now reliably sign in successfully on these systems.
The 24.2.2 update also includes all of the many features and fixes that were released in the previous updates.

WHO SHOULD GET THIS UPDATE?
This update is recommended for all users of FTM 2019. It contains important updates for:
  • Syncing with Ancestry
  • Ancestry Login on macOS 10.14-10.15

BEFORE YOU UPDATE
  1. Make sure FTM 2019 is installed. The updater will look for FTM 2019 version 24.0 (build 230) or version 24.0.1 (build 252) before running.
  2. Sync your trees. If you have been syncing successfully in FTM 2019, sync one more time before running the update.  If you're upgrading from FTM 2017 and have been waiting for green weather to sync, you can skip this step.
  3. Compact and Back up your trees. If you have not already done so, compact your trees (Tools > Compact File) and make manual backups (File>Backup, making sure the Media and Restore Sync boxes are checked). If you need detailed instructions for backing up your tree please click here.

GETTING THE UPDATER
There are a few ways to get the free 24.1 update:
  • Email notifications.  We recently sent out email update notifications to anyone who had already installed and registered FTM 2019, including information about the update and a link to the Update Center, where you can download it for free.
  • Update Center.  If you aren't sure if you received the email notification or can't find the email, click here to go directly to the Update Center.
Follow the on-screen instructions in the Update Center all the way through to the end to get your free download links.  After downloading the updater, you will need to close FTM 2019 and run the updater itself.  Step-by-step instructions for picking up download links and running the updater can be found here:

Below is a news release from last November, from MacKiev President, Jack Minsky.  This will be primarily a maintenance/bug fixing update for the current FTM 2019 program. It does, however have several significant new functions for FTM2019.  Its release date is unknown. I suspect that the hard copy FTM Companion Guide in book form will begin to be mailed out when the below described ver 24.1 is released.
